Dimensions and Material for Building Kitchen Custom Cabinet

Cabinet Dimensions

OK, our cabinet is constructed of standard 1"x12" pine. For those that don't know, this board is actually going to measure ¾" x 11 ¼". As it turns out, this is a perfect size for our upper cabinets and the best part is, we don't have to rip the boards to a smaller size.

Here's what our assembly will eventually look like:

This cabinet's completed dimensions are 24"W x 36"H x 12"D, but remember that you can modify those dimensions to fit your need. For this cabinet though, here's what you'd have to purchase:

Materials List For Cabinet Only

2....... 1x12x8 Pine

1....... 24"x36" Luan

34...... 1 ½" Wood screws or finish nails

You'll have a good bit of pine left over from your two 8 footers and you'll also likely have to purchase a full 4' x 8' sheet of Luan, but you can use that on your other cabinets. Either way, you're gonna spend about $20 on the wood. You'll also need to use some wood glue.
