Designing a Baby Nursery
Congratulations! If you are reading this you are expecting a blessed event - or you have just had one. We will help you to plan and design a room where you can bond with your new baby, an tranquil place where you will spend hours with this magical new person you have brought into the world.
First and Foremost: Choosing a Crib
It is perhaps the most important component of your new nursery: the crib. Cribs come in many styles, types, and finishes; standard, canopy, sleigh, corner, traditional, contemporary - the list goes on and on. And every crib is available in a variety of finishes and colors. Design features that you should look for in a crib include a drop down rail for easy access, storage drawers beneath the crib, teething rails and rolling casters for ease of movement. With a Crib, It's Safety First
You must always keep safety in mind when choosing a crib; after all, babies spend 60-70% of the first year of their lives in one. Most cribs sold today meet the standards set by the Consumer Products Safety Commission, but you should be mindful of any recalls before making your purchase.Consider a Rocking Chair
Beyond the crib, furniture for your baby's nursery depends upon the size of the room and the size of your budget. Many people consider the next most important piece of furniture to be a rocking chair. Many an hour is spent bonding with your child, as he or she sleeps contentedly in your arms, lulled to slumber by the gentle rocking. And many a fussy baby can be relaxed to sleep in this way.A Nightstand Come In Handy
Perhaps next to the rocker you will put a nightstand, with a baby nursery lamp on it. It's a handy place to keep the items that you might need to reach for without disturbing the baby - like bottle, pacifiers, tissues or bibs.Other Useful Furniture
A changing table is a very handy piece of furniture to have - because one thing you can be certain of is that the baby will need changing! There are various types, but all have room for storage of changing items, whether open front, with storage baskets, or closed like a dresser. You would like to put shelves in your new nursery, to hold visually stimulating items such as toys and stuffed animals. Often, you can buy ready-to-hang shelves with pegs underneath on which to hang baby clothes, blankets, laundry bags or bath towels. If after all this you still have space - and something left in the budget - you might consider a baby dresser or armoire, a baby bookcase a toybox and additional storage baskets. There is nothing you wouldn't do for your new baby. You want to provide him or her with comfort and security in every way, and that includes his first room. We can help you plan this blessed event's first habitat in his new world, a nurturing, tranquil place where you can develop the bonds that will last for both of your lifetimes.
