How to Install Vinyl Siding and Its Special Fixtures

With vinyl siding be sure to continue on the same plane (wall) and go up as high as you can reach. Once you have that area done, you'll move on to the next, which is most often around the corner. Just keep doing things the same way. Pay attention to how things lap and where seams will fall. The only new thing for you to watch for is how the corners match up.

Theoretically you have the same

Installing Vinyl Siding size pieces of siding and if you apply the same amount of upwards pressure as you nail them, they should all end up in the same place, right? Well, most of the time. To ensure the installation looks good though, stand back every once in awhile and take a look at the corner. Make sure they are matching up. If they start to drift, either put a little extra pressure, or a little less to get them closer together. If you notice that you're 1/8" off, don't try to make it up on the next course, only gain about 1/16" each time and then it will be much less noticeable.

Special Vinyl Fixtures

I'd like to mention again that the proper fixtures will make a good job look great. Most vendors offer an array of fixtures in various colors to coordinate or match their siding. Vinyl SidingChoosing the proper fixture will help you do a better job and provide better functionality.
It's best to have these fixtures prior to installation so that you can see how they will be installed and how they'll look. Most of them are not easy to remove or install after the siding is in place.
If you're not comfortable with any electrical or telephone line work, be sure you have an electrician picked out have him come by and remove all the fixtures for you. Then make sure they are properly sealed and be careful not to touch any wires unless the breaker is off.
