Workbench Magazine
Building things for the house and improving it can be a challenge for those who don’t know how to do it. Sure, we could call a contractor, but doing so is very expensive and requires some savings or cutting back on other expenses.
However, some decorations or repairs aren’t really that difficult, and it is mostly a matter of knowing how to do it. Sometimes all it requires is some time, patience, and the right materials and tools.
If you want to learn how to do some basic work around your house, I recommend you get Workbench Magazine. Workbench Magazine is a magazine that’s published bimonthly by the August Home Publishing Company.
The August Home Pulbishing Company publishes several do it yourself magazines related to various topics, such as gardening and tool fixing. Workbench Magazine is one of their most popular publications, and it is aimed at projects and designs that can be done to improve your home or residence.
There are several reasons why Workbench Magazine is so popular. First of all, it is one of the few do it yourself magazines that actually feature projects that have very practical applications on a home.
Also, it can be used by both amateurs and professionals. Every project that Workbench Magazine features is done from scratch. The magazine doesn’t assume any previous information from the reader and it spells it out nicely for you. For example, when it comes to materials, it gives you at least a very brief description of what each item is and even some suggestions of where you can get it.
That doesn’t mean that professionals will not find useful information in the magazine. As a constructor, one of the most interesting features of Workbench Magazine for me is the tool reviews. A type of tool can vary in quantity, specific functions and price greatly, so it’s a great help to read some reviews about it before investing a few hundred dollars. The reviews in Workbench Magazine are by far the best I’ve seen. Not only there is a section that goes in detail about the specific functions and performance of a complex tool. There is also a comparison between brands which includes basic testing, so you can compare both performance and price before you make your purchase.
Finally, I find the price of Workbench Magazine very reasonable. I subscribe by Internet, so I pay $19.95 per year, and I get 6 issues. While I wish there were more issues per year, I suppose for most people it’s ok, since they really won’t make every single project that the each issue features. However, I guess you can easily get one or two projects done in your free time between magazines.
